Are there any home remedies for hearing loss from cold?

asked:

I have a bad cold and haven’t been able to hear in one ear for about three days. Any home remedies that you have tried that actually work?

there isn’t much you can do. Taking antihistamines will help, usually a blocked up ear is from the eustachian tube being not long enough or in a “kinked” position. Children get ear infections because the eustachian tube is not laying down on a slight curve. The curve allows drainage. Try also taking saline drops to empty out the nasal cavities will help too, also keeping the room cooler by use of a cool mist humidifier will help keeps things moist and prevent any buildup.

When your cold is gone, your hearing will improve. Until then, you can check with local health stores (like GNC) to see what they have or would recommend.
