Well I have had a really bad cold now for about 5 days. And about the 2nd day I started loosing hearing in my left ear. It still has not started to come back and it hurts. Any ideas?

No insurance and no money? You’re going to die!
No, I’m just joking. If you go to the emergency room, they will see you and although there is a lot of red tape and paper work to fill out later, you can get most of it forgiven and the rest of it on a payment plan.
When you feel better you should apply for your state’s medical care system. It is usually for people on disability but you may qualify if you are unemployed. The hospital has a business office that will assist and advise you…but I will warn you, there is a LOT of paperwork involved.
Rest, drink lots of liquids and eat lots of zinc. Try zycam. Tylanol for pain. Emergen “C” in your water. Juice, soup, steamy showers. A cold usually lasts about 10 days. If its just a cold, you just have to be patient. If it turns into an infection, you’ll need antibiotics. Antibiotics don’t help a cold.

Your cold likely has caused your Eustachian tube (what makes your ear pop) to block. You may even have fluid in your ear, especially with pain and your hearing being affected.
Ideally you would see a walk-in clinic to get an oral antibiotic. If you truly have “no money” to do that, try using Afrin for 3-5 days as directed on the bottle but NO MORE than that.
To get your Eustachian tube to open, try blowing up balloons or holding your nose and blowing gently (called val salva).
