There is currently no cure for HIV, the virus that can lead to AIDS. There are treatments that can help people with HIV stay healthier, longer, and increase the amount of time between diagnosis of HIV and diagnosis of AIDS.
There was news recently about the possibility that bone marrow transplant could be used to cure HIV, but it was only one case which would have to be followed long term and duplicated with many other patients before bone marrow transplant could be considered a true cure. There are serious concerns about the safety and cost of using bone marrow transplant to treat/cure HIV, however.
