I went to my ENT a few weeks ago, and he gave me a hearing test and I was above average for both ears. He said it didnt look like anything was wrong with my inner ear. He cleaned out the wax in my ears, but its still the same.

Before any of you compare diminished sight to hearing loss, they are not the same. People do not bring items closer to you when you wear glasses like they yell when they see you wearing hearing aids.

I am also 12 and I cant afford to lose a lot of my hearing while im 21 because I will loose many experinces in my life. I also go to about 5 concerts a year and the music gets REALLY LOUD. I know I could but earplugs but most of them block out most of the frequincies. Any suggestions?

Brian Wilson is deaf in one ear, and many other working musicians today obviously have some hearing loss and tinnitus. In fact, it’s probably more common than we think.

I’m still not clear on it though. Some hearing loss is different from being partially deaf no?

Two years ago, my friend suffered a mini stroke and lost his right ear of hearing. Otherwise, everything else seems to be fine. I wonder if an MRI procedure could pinpoint the area within the ear that is causing the hissing/tunnel sound.
I wonder if his ear can be brought back to normalcy.
