Question by SAVAGE: Why don’t pro-illegals get it?
I keep hearing how there are all these jobs that legal “lazy” Americans wont do, which is total BS, do any of you get that it is near impossible for citizens to take a job from an illegal and be paid as a legitimate tax paying employee, the employer has to pay you at least minimum wage, illegals are paid under the table which means cash, no taxes are paid, if they have a falsified/stolen SSN these illegals can apply for aid, welfare, food stamps, Medicaid, etc etc….! If I apply for a job picking oranges and all I want is minimum wage I will not get the job because there is an illegal waiting to do that job for half the price, they can afford to work for less because they are collecting welfare, food stamps, and free medical. What the hell is so hard to understand?
glolossa – read the question, we were talking about illegals your husband is legal as you state whats your point, and i didnt say you were lazy.

anti- been there done that, would do it again with out a second thought if i had to to put food on the table!!

bunt – that farmer has admitted he cant afford to pay minimum wage to get his friggin oranges picked by any legal citizen of this country, hence the begining of the cycle, dont worry i know you have no idea what i am talking about because it has nothing to do with compassion or race blah, blah, blah…….WHATEVER!!!!!! GET A CLUE!!!! OH YA, POW!!!!! ONE FOR WARRIORBABE FROM ME!!!!

Question by zerofool2005: Has anybody won a claim on paypal?
I bought an item on yahoo auctions and the seller never sent it. I have tried contacting him and he is not replying. When i look at yahoo’s claims TOS they say they can only refund $ 200 with a $ 25 cahrge which sucks when you paid $ 722. So i am filing the claim with paypal has anybody won? I heard of websites where people are complaining about paypal. I have full info about the seller Address phone number etc. And a IP address of where he works.

If i dont win the claim with paypal are there any police/goverment orignisations that can help me get the money back?
I am in the UK and he is in the US so its a bit confusing try to find who to work with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and the seller is selling the exact same item with the same description and picture and price

Question by Kaila J: im sick of college research, please help (admissions workers especially)?
I am a high school junior rather confused about where to apply to college. I want to major in physician assisting or biology in college; I haven’t officially decided yet. I feel like I am limiting myself in my college choices. My mom is encouraging me (to put it lightly) to go to an in-state school. She is also limiting me on the amount of tuition I should look at. What I have heard, though, is not to consider price untill you have been officially accepted and presented with your finacial aid options. My mom’s requirements leave me with only a few schools that fall into my personal requirements, such as a good biology program, a variety of music programs, and a location that’s not in the middle of nowhere. I have the SAT scores to get into much more advanced colleges than the schools I am currently looking at. Also, should I go into a physician assistant program or a more general biology major and decide on my career after a have my bachelor’s degree? My mom wants me to go into the PA program, but I feel like I would be safer in a biology program. I change my mind too often, and what if I end up not liking physician assisting? I know I could talk to my guidance counselor about this, but she has 200 other students to deal with and I don’t have much time to talk to her because of my schedule.
The PA program that my mom wants me to do is a 5 year BS/MS program.

Best answer:

Answer by eri
PA programs are graduate programs (masters degree) – you need a 4-year college degree to apply to one, and biology is usually the degree they recommend, along with most of the premed courses (chem, physics, math).

Question by JT: I am selling an item on Craigslist and recently received a great offer, but is this a fraud attempt?
Buyer named Mr. Bob Edwards send me a question asking if the item was still for sale to which I replied yes. He then sent the following email:
“Hello,
Thanks for your reply toward my request for your item, I am very happy to hear that the item is still available, the price you want to get the item sold is acceptable by me and I hope it is in good condition. I run a TV SHOW residing in 822 Roosevelt St. Wichita Falls

Actually, I am buying this item as a gift for my Boy; He was currently transferred to West Africa, he is a staff of world health organization and he was transferred to West Africa for awareness to stop HIV/AIDS and Malaria. I will pay through pay pal and you will help me mail the item to Him through US postal service (USPS).

Kindly provide me with your pay pal email and if you don’t you can simply log on to http://anonym.to/?http://www.paypal.com/ and register for one so you can get back to me with it if it’s accepted. I will be adding a shipping fee of $ 150. I think ($ 400) will cover the shipping and your money.

I need this item as soon as possible so that it can be able to get to Him. Please I would love to see it locally and pay for it but I have a tight job schedule as I run a TV SHOW, http://www.bobedwardsradio.com/ my days are always busy. that is why I can’t do this locally /pick it up hope you will understand. Kindly get back to me ASAP so that I will make the payment, I assure you that once I receive your information for the payment, I will send out the payment to you quickly.

I wait to hear from you as soon as possible so that I can make the payment as fast as I can.

Regards,

Bob Edwards

Is this a fraud attempt?

Best answer:

Answer by Bash Limpbutt’s Oozing Cyst©
Pure scam.

A genuine buyer never refers to what you are selling as “your item” but calls it whatever it is.

Any time a “buyer” mentions any foreign country as the destination of whatever you are selling, it’s a SCAM.

Any time someone offers to pay too much, it’s a SCAM. (They usually expect you to be stupid enough to send their “change” via Western Union or some other untraceable means.)

Any time a “buyer” includes a hypertext link, especially one that is redirecting off of an unrelated site, it’s a SCAM.

And a “TV SHOW” on “BobEdwardsRadio?” Those scammers are not all that bright and are depending upon you being even dumber. Don’t fall for it.

Question by choaxman69: Does Full Sail give laptops for discount? And can my financial aid pay for that?
Hey
I was looking at schools to go to that offers online classes because I live in Tampa but full sail is in Orlando so yea.

I checked out HCC and USF already but nothing that interested me and I saw Full Sail and it caught my eye so that’s what I want to do now.

I just need to know if my financial aid would pay for it or will I have to get it for the discount price that they offer.

and yea i heard what everyone had said about it but i still want to do it.

Best answer:

Answer by David L
I believe that the laptop is coverd by your financial aid. I think they like it paid up front, but will accept student loan funds to pay for it. Full Sail just published that 34 of their recent graduates have worked on 15 Oscar nominated films. Plus, they are starting construction on a new building. After it aquired university status, it will be even more recognized as a great college. Its an expensive school, but well worth the education. If you haven’t visited the school yet, do it soon. You will be impressed at their facility.
Oh, usually, most laptops are Macs unless you want to study video game design and development, then it would be a PC.
Good luck.

Question by Faded things: A REALLY good college? Can it happen for me?
Hi,
I have huge dreams, and their confusing me to a great extent. Ever since i was young i have wanted to be a writer, and i still do. I had also always wanted to attened a VERY good college such as NYU. However as i age i am now 4 years away from college and was smacked hard with reality. NYU is exspensive, from what i have heard. VERY. and i am not rich, i would require A LOT of finacial aid. And i have also heard that NYU does not give finacial aid.
I have straight A’s except for a B. went to The Salk school of Science middle school graduated in NYU’s auditioroium since my school had a partnership with them. I got a certificate from NYU.
NYU is my dream. I’d be the first in my family to go to college as great as that…but i don’t know if i can get there…not with the price trailing heavily behind me. I wonder if they’d even consider me. I try my best and life and i know i want to be a writer and i wont let that down, i was not put on earth for nothing. I really am trying….i just don’t know what to do. It’s a dream im not sure i can reach although i’m dying to reach it. Other then NYU if worse comes to worse, are there any other REALLY nice and well graded schools in NY i could consider?

Thank you to all who read this through and who comments, your time is really helping me possibly get my motivation or advice for me to get where i want to….NEED to be.

Best answer:

Answer by Alex
Sounds to me like you have your entire high school career in front of you. Middle school is just a warm up, this is where it starts to count. Take the hardest classes you can handle, B’s are okay if you work for them. Find something you’re good at and do it, extracurricular involvement seems to be important to NYU. I’ve heard their financial aid is less than steller (probably because they spend hundreds of dollars sending people like me viewbook after viewbook despite the fact that I’d never want to go there personally), but it is possible to work things out. If you are a strong enough candiate to get into Columbia, it will probably be free for you, so that could be a fun little goal.

Question by a: Can I accept an admission offer from a college while still waiting for the others (about financial aid)?
As of now, I’ve already heard back from all my colleges. One private college already sent me the admission offer and financial aid package(pretty nice one too! I just gotta give about the price of a regular CUNY tuition). I’m 90% sure I will go. But I still have not heard back from my public universities about financial aid. It’s already mid April and I have to decide by May 1. Should I still wait or just accept that private college? I just want to see what my public universities will offer me for financial aid. I probably won’t go; it’s unlikely but I would still like to know. So, let’s say I accept the offer by the private college, will my other public universities know and just won’t even both giving me my financial aid??
the deposit is waived though so I don’t have to pay it.
oops, I meant “just won’t even bother giving me financial aid”

Answer by Anon
When you accept from the one college, you need to put down a deposit of about $ 500, so you should wait until May 1st and hope that some of these other colleges get back to you by then.

You will still get the financial offers from these schools, and if it’s worth it, you can forfeit the deposit at your currently preferred school and attend one of the other schools instead.

Question by Steve L: question about financial aid?
I’m 19 and live about 45 miles northwest of Houston, TX. My mom makes somewhere between $ 28,000 – $ 32,000 a year. My step dad makes somewhere between $ 80,000 – $ 90,000 a year. So we are a middle class family in the governments eyes. The problem is my step dad wouldn’t spare a penny for someone else to save their life. So If I want to go to school all the financial burden rests on my mom and I.

Earlier this year I was trying to apply to the Art Institute of North Houston. I want to enroll in their game design program. I filled out all the application paperwork. I drew the 10 different drawings they wanted to see so that they could judge my talent and they were very impressed. I filled out the FASFA online. When the time finally came to give them $ 150 to determine how much financial aid I would receive by looking at the FASFA results, they told me what all four years would cost.

Up to this point I had naively assumed that it would be expensive but reasonable, maybe $ 40k – $ 50k. Turns out it costs $ 82,000. $ 120,000 with interest over 10 years, $ 140,000 over 15 years. There’s no way I could afford that.

I was a slacker in high school. I’m not stupid, my IQ is above 140, and my teachers were always frustrated by me because I aced all the tests and screwed around on the rest of the work. I had a hard time focusing and seeing the usefulness of a lot of the courses. So I’m not going to be getting any scholarships on grades. And after they told me what the price of the school was I didn’t want to spend $ 150 for them to tell me that I only qualify for a small amount of aid due to my step dads income.

I’ve been doing the math and it seems to me that the largest loan I could afford to pay off at their interest rate would have to be $ 50k or below.

My questions —

1. Is there any other way of getting money for school that could help me?

2. Am I wrong to assume that my step dads income would ruin my chances of getting any significant financial aid?

3. Are there any people out there who have gone to the art institute for game design, paid the $ 82k, completed the school and paid off the loan?

4. If so, am I wrong to assume I wouldn’t be able to pay off the loan after completing school, and getting a job in that field?

5. I remember hearing somewhere that part of Obamas education plan was to prevent banks from charging interest on school loans. Since the money comes from the government and the banks aren’t taking any risk. Is this true, and if so does anyone have a guess as to when this might reach congress? (no retarded “obama is a socialist” posters please..)

(Please spare me the lectures on high school. I’ve learned the importance of high school now and I wish I could go back and smack some sense into myself.. but I can’t)

Answer by Reflections
I would never judge you. You may have to go as a independent student. That way they will base it only your income alone. Be careful with private loans especially Sallie Mae. I have a 2,500 now it’s 7,187. That is just an example of private loan. You have to research the area you want to study to make sure it will be a job in that field. Ask yourself this question while research is the job gone pay for my loans and allow me to lead a comfortable life. you have to prepare for illness or natural disaster. No matter what happens they have no sympathy they just want they money. My advice is to make sure that field pays enough for you to pay your loan and live comfortable. I hope that help you some. REMEMBER RESEARCH IS THE KEY CHECK OUT FAFSA AS WELL!!

Where can we go for help with this inquiry?

Best answer:

Answer by My Take on It
What is the “Golden Age Rule” in regards to either hearing aids or debts when you pass away?
If you are asking if these hearing aids need to still be paid for, the answer is yes, and they should come out of your fathers estate, if he had any money left.
