How did people in school treat you cause you wearing hearing aids?

I went to high school with a girl who wore hearing aids, and with my cousin who is completely deaf in one ear. Neither one of them had any troubles with people teasing them or anything… most people didn’t even notice that Stephanie wore hearing aids!
Aside from a few lighthearted jokes (calling Jeremy ‘Deafboy’ and saying that Stephanie got hearing AIDS from unprotected phone sex) exchanged among best friends, there was no difficulty. Both of them took it in stride, and are now doing very well in their college courses.

Today they’re so much better; when I was in school they only had the big flag kind that stuck way out and there was that wire from the aid into your pocket and they were really noticeable; today they’re so much better and people won’t hassle you, believe me.
