I am now 30 years old and I am wearing hearing aids since my 8 years old. Although I am used to them, I have never found anyone else with the same issue in my direct environment.

I have often issues of tinnitus (sounds in ear), balance issues, speaking problems…

And this is affecting my image at work. I have tried to communicate this to my bosses, in any way possible, and they just don’t seem to get it.

Is there anyone that can relate to this and give me some advice. I am working in a highly-competitive IT department and sometimes, I just can’t handle it anymore. I just don’t seem to be able to explain it to anyone and find myself alone again…

I have my wife and 2 children and my job is the only income for the family, so therefore my sincere call for help.

I have the same hearing with aids as one would with out them. (Meaning I hear like a normal range person would with hearing aids).
I have had my heart set on this and have been training and attending college for 4 years just to become a marshall, and just now I know I need 30 DB or better… any loop holes?

so i am pretty much failed with my dream of a Marshall? I really wish that people would say this before i spend the money on training. What is it you do? I mean local work would be like police officer????

I just completed a physical and the news on my hearing is that it is getting worse. I do have to ask people to repeat what they said to a certain extent but I can’t lose the feeling that they are just talking too low. Do you have that feeling? I went to a company and hearing aids will cost me about $4,000 + and that is after a contribution by my carrier. I can hear fine within a certain frequency range – I think.

he has a severe to profound loss in both ears. They are recommending the RESOUND AZURE $3000.00 each. He needs good aids as he is young and in business. Does anyone have any input? Are there other aids out there that are just as good but less expensive? Prices seems to be all over the place even on the same aids??

I was born with limited hearing, so I can hear fine if I wear hearing aids, but I can barely hear anything when I am not wearing them. I don’t wear my hearing aids when I’m sleeping, and I don’t recall being able to hear anything in dreams. I can still dream of talking and stuff like I’ll dream up a conversation with someone and stuff, but I dont actually feel like I’m hearing what the other person is saying; I just know what they’re saying because its kind of me thats making them say whatever they are saying (sorry if that was confusing). Basically, I am not completely deaf and I can still hear (albeit softly), and I wear hearing aids which makes my hearing almost as good as most peoples, but when I’m in bed I take off my hearing aids so I basically dont hear anything since no one else is in the room with me. I was just wondering if people with normal hearing can actually feel the sound in their ears when they dream.

My step dad is dying of cancer, he is doing good now but he can’t hear! I didn’t know if there was any organization that helps with stuff like that? His hearing aids would run $7200 a piece! How is anyone supposed to pay for that? His insurance only pays a small amount. It’s just a shame that people who are this bad can’t even enjoy hearing things in their last days!
